About class
Hello and welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Bailey Middle School. I am Alison Hamilton and I am excited to be your child’s ELA teacher this school year. I am thrilled to give your child a wonderful and fascinating experience over the next nine months.I am from Atlanta, Ga and married to my wonderful husband of 9 years. We have two fur babies Domino and DJ. I received my Bachelor’s degree at Florida A&M University, my Bachelor’s degree from University of Phoenix, and am currently working towards my doctorate at Grand Canyon University.
I want to inform you a little bit about about my class, so that you can know best how to help your child to succeed in ELA. It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun experience in my class. I have extremely high expectations for all of my students. It is my expectation for them to always do their very best. Students are to be accountable and responsible for all work, assignments, assessments, papers, and projects by utilizing their agendas to record ALL all class information. The information will be written on the board and explained thoroughly several times. On my website: Test, Assessment, Project, and Paper dates will be listed FAR in advance, for parents to be given notice. All other assignments, is the student’s choice and responsibility to record in their agenda.
It is important for students to express when there is material covered that they do not understand. Encourage your child to ask questions during class and come for extra help if needed. Working lunch for ELA is on Thursday’s.
I have simple rules:
1. Show respect and kindness to each other at all times.
2.Use your time efficiently and do your BEST work every day,
3. Be accountable for your own actions
4.Use positive/ supportive language only
